Recently, while Tony was sitting at the kitchen table, he wrote the following letter and wanted it posted on the blog.
Dear Family and Friends,
I know the walk will be difficult and long! I know that I have you there with me to make the time and danger seem little to no importance.
I love and respect each of you and would not want it any different.
Love,
Tony
Praying for you and the strength needed for you, and your family thru this hurdle. You have positively effected many and I look forward to many more years with you as "one of my dads"
ReplyDeleteEric Kelcher
I pray you find comfort and strength in the prayers of the many, many friends and family who are thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteYou and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tony,
ReplyDeleteGiven your Italian roots, I know one thing for sure – you have incredible strength, courage and determination. Add in your spirit and zest for life, I am confident you are going to fight like crazy to overcome this condition! You are an inspiration to us all! When you are up for company, I would love to see you. And heck – for that matter, I will bring over some of my Italian grandmother’s infamous cookies, and we can compare Sicilian recipes!!! I am thinking about you every day, praying for your recovery, asking God to continue to give you the extra strength and courage to get you through this time. We are all here for you and your family, just like all the times you have been there for us!!! Hope to see you soon!!!

Tony, you and your family are in my prayers in the morning and evening. I figure you can’t pray too much for somebody as wonderful as you and the only NAA member who has received both the ACE Award from the Institute and the Hall of Fame from NAA. While I did not work with you as Chairman of the Board, you are a leader and a friend. And for that I am most grateful. Know that much love and prayers are coming your way. You have friends all over this country! Love, Karen.
ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteYou and yours are in my thoughts and prayers. You are an amazing leader that I have learned so much from and I am sure you will be back on your feet in no time! I consider you a great friend and mentor. If there is anything at all I can do, please let me know. If you need some homecooked spaghetti, I can do that too!!
Take Care, I hope to see you real soon! You can always reach me at 813-404-2748.

ReplyDeleteTony,
ReplyDeleteAll of our thoughts are with you and the gang misses you. I learned a lot from you and a lot about you and I know you have the conviction to fight this. You are too strong a person not too.
Get Well!
Travis
Dear Tony and Pat,
ReplyDeletePlease know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. We pray for your strength and comfort, as well as for the doctors' wisdom. We are close by if you ever need anything.
Sincerely,
Sue and Frank Scharffenberger
My Friend,
ReplyDeleteYou have so many that care for you and wish you well that I fear any words of mine may be lost on the outpouring of love which you so deserve. This fact is a testament to your character. You have - through a compassionate walk, genuine heart and giving soul - touched a great many lives. Those of us who wandered into your world are, to a person, all the better for it. You represent the highest ideals of respect and honor I have known in a man. I trust you will overcome this challenge with the perseverance and force of will that we all admire about you. You are in my prayers Tony. For you, for your family and for all the work you have left to do showing us how to be better than we think we can be.
Most Sincerely and Respectfully,
Michael Fortinberry
Tony -
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear this news. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. This is going to cost you some "chits" :-)

Dear Tony & Family,
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I don't see any of my posts....here goes again. Could be the author 'ya know. Sending lots of love and good thoughts your way from coast to coast. Wish I could drop by for a visit. Even though we don't get to see each other often, when we do it's like no time has passed. That's the meaning of true friendship....how long has it been?
Hugs & kisses.
